Psychics?

I’m just wondering if you’ve ever had a good or even accurate reading. I’ve always been on the fence about psychics, are they good or are they just good at guessing. Although I still remember having a very accurate reading that came true and I wonder, what are your experiences?

There's no such thing. They are con artists exploiting poor souls who are desperate to hear good news.

Not always, I had one lady very specifically describe my grandma and also the ring she left for me and also she described exactly where I keep her one picture and exactly what frame it was kept it. Honestly I didn’t even need the reading at all just did it out of curiosity and it was mostly correct

It's all nonsense. Don't waste your time or your money.

They never seem to be able to tell people anything useful though, do they? Like where the deceased loved one hid the jewellery, or that the deeds to the house are under the floorboards in the attic.

You won't get any useful answers here I'm afraid #woopolice

Years ago I met a woman who was psychic. We met through friends and I didn’t believe in it at all. She had a corporate job and didn’t do readings or anything like that. She said that sometimes she got messages for people and she passed them on. No money exchanged for it.

I’d known her for about a year through this mutual friend. We had only socialised as part of the group.

One afternoon in my friends garden she came up to me and said “there’s a man with you and he’s really insistent that I talk to you and tell you that everything will be ok. He’s with you and things are going to get better and better. Especially when the blond man comes into your life”.

I asked her what he looked like and she said he’s tall, slim but with a pot belly and short hair but a heap of curls at the top of his head. I had no idea who she was taking about and just said thanks.

Fast forward 6 months and I had been forced to move home as my landlord was selling my house and as a single parent I couldn’t afford another house. Myself and my Mum were going through her old photos and she showed me a picture of my grandfather who had died when my Mum was 4. It was the man she had described. Tall and skinny with a pot belly and a heap of curls on top of his head. I got head to toe goosebumps.

Within a year I met and moved in with blond DH. Probably one of the few blond Italians. I don’t know whether she was just lucky or really knew something but she was dead right about everything.

I’ll be straight up: any ‘psychics’ used by a company (for eg hotlines, online psychics, etc) are likely to be desperate people hoping they say the right thing in exchange for money.

I know this because I was one.

Ex walked out and cancelled all the direct debits leaving me with no job and a baby. UC has a 6 week wait and didn’t cover everything. I needed a job ASAP and a ‘psychic’ company was recruiting advertising it as customer service.

I did my best to treat it almost as counselling for people who called. I’d listen to them get their problems off their chest, I’d read tarot because who knows, maybe some higher power was working through me? And at the end of the day I’d just try to gently guide them on to better things/a positive mindset. Mostly it was women calling to ask if their boyfriend would come back. I think they needed ‘permission’ to move on.

I’m not psychic. I did like how people ended the contact feeling better than when they started. I did my best. At the end of the day it was a scam, the company was ripping off the customers with a fake service while paying me close to nothing; but close to nothing is better than actually nothing when you have a baby.

Total charlatans. You can learn to do it very easily yourself.

Watch some debunking videos.

They aren't good at guessing. They are cold reading you. It's what every 'psychic' does. It's all a con.
