Anyone with high cholesterol? Did you manage to reduce it with diet only ?

Mine was perfect in 2019, now post covid, its quite high and increased again since last blood test.

Total 7.5, should be less than 5.

LDL 4.6, should be less than 3,
non HDL 5, should be less than 3.8.

If you did manage to do it via diet, how long did it take to work? I would like to avoid statins if I can.

I started taking plant sterol supplements a few months ago, but hasn't helped at all.

Have you been given the suggested diet guidance from the NHS? I am 5.5 but when i saw the guidance i realised that from a cholesterol pov I'm eating really very well. So if mine raises i won't be able to do much re diet.

Thank you. My GP gave me nothing, I'm not in the UK. I can find resources on line, just wondering if its worthwhile to try a low cholesterol diet or just go on statins now.

Apparently exercise helps more than diet if you already have a decent diet
