Wiping an iPad without losing stuff?

My BIL is in dispute with his stepdaughters over items belonging to their late mother. He has her iPad (it was a present from him and he has opted to keep it under the terms of the will), however they are her executors and are demanding he wipe the iPad.

It has photos she took, many on their life together. Her Facebook page is still current as is messenger. Her email accounts too are still current. There's not much else on the iPad like apps so wiping the rest isn't an issue.

How does he close her email accounts?
How can he transfer the photos to somewhere safe?
He wants to make the Facebook page a legacy page. Does that also clear Messenger of messages?

He doesn't have her Apple ID but has the code to get into the iPad. No passwords to the emails either.

Email to his email address?

He could just take the iPad to max spielmann or somewhere and transfer all the photos on to disc or have them printed out.

No idea about the Facebook issue. Why would he still need access to her messenger messages though? I would hate to think of someone having access to all mine tbh. Not that there is anything exciting on there but they are my accounts and not for other people to read through. Same with email. I can understand her DD wanting the iPad wiped, it’s an invasion of their mothers privacy.
Why does he actually need to close the email accounts? some info here

I should say, he was her husband for 12 years.

The pictures, he can use her email to send them to his via Share then he downloads them. Likewise if he can see her fb page from his device he can save any pics.

Or if he has an Apple device he can use Airdrop to copy them over.

If he can get into her iPad then set up an online photo account (say Google photos) and upload to that,

Sounds a good start x
