Current one is too outing to mention but past obsessions have been:

Jewellery making
Planning my wedding
Baby wearing (sorry) / slings
Tried going vegan for a while
Tried going sober
Dry slope skiing
Ice skating
Choir
Batch cooking/ slow cooking everything

They last about 2-3 months before I lose interest. No harm has been done but I do feel like a bit of a twat for being so consumed by things 😆 please tell me I'm not alone.

Yes. I have ADHD

This.

I read somewhere recently that one distinguishing feature of adhd compared to autism is that autism "special interest" are long lasting and adhd tend to be more transitory.

And buying stuff - I'll obsess over the pros and cons for weeks.
Dh wanted the garden designed but I just can't seem to get enthused, I'm waiting for the obsession to arrive, so we can plan what to do - before that happens it's just not possible.
I've also obsessed about the kids numeracy and literacy when they were in primary school - did all the research on that too!

DH is terrible for getting obsessed with hobbies, buys all the stuff then quickly loses interest. I call the garage his ‘hobby graveyard’. I get obsessed with books or films or tv, e.g will watch nothing else but Bridgerton for weeks, read about it online, look at fan pages etc then get over it and watch something else! Have done the same with hundreds of things over the years!
