Couscous

sorry to post here but I’m hoping for a range of answers. Ds had to make cous cous salad for cooking at school. Now I’m left with a load - can anyone suggest a cheap meal to serve with it?! Also ideas of what to add to the cous cous.

We don’t usually eat it - potatoes, pasta or rice here so a bit lost.

I serve it with pretty much anything that I'd serve rice with - preferably something with a sauce. I make a lovely moroccan honey chicken to go with it.

We had it last night with Moroccan lamb, I added raisins, cinnamon, coriander, cumin and fresh coriander was delicious.

I also like it made with chicken stock accompanying chicken, tomatoes and sweetcorn onions a creamy tarragon sauce.

Totally not what the thread is about, but I have a large number of Pashto speaking friends, and just absolutely CANNOT use the word couscous in polite company. In Pashto Kuss means "pussy" and I do not mean a feline!

A stew thing with onion and garlic, then chickpeas, aubergine and tomatoes. Also uses cinnamon, paprika and cumin. Quick, cheap and easy.

Tonight we had peppers stuffed with a mixture of feta, pine nuts, basil and lemon juice. We had rice but couscous would have gone nicely.

@Jalisco in Albanian curry (not same spelling but sounds like it) means dick. No something you want to say in company. I’ve learnt to say I’ve made or eaten Indian.
