We are stuck with choosing sofas
we are stuck between
www.dfs.co.uk/camden/cdm13apdm?skuId=4344495

www.sofology.co.uk/sofas/islington?code=SKU000592807&sosch=true&objectID=SKU000592807&queryID=091d0d61eaa69b95f6df2a3d50b00841

www.sofology.co.uk/sofas/mimi?code=SKU000502086&sosch=true&objectID=SKU000502086&queryID=cbbb8dab9a400702b19d93932f3e4d72

I hear the dfs camden might have a tendancy to slip or bobble? Seems reviews for every sofa company are just pants

Does anyone have either sofa?

No but all I know is we waited 14 weeks for our sofa from dfs this year. One didn’t turn up as it was faulty at the warehouse. The others (3 v large sofas) did turn up without the legs (faulty) and rock hard. We sent them all back within 14 days. I had to trial to the shop as it’s impossible to ring the show rooms - it’s like faulty towers - no direct telephone numbers and you always get assured a manager will call you back within 48 hrs but they don’t. All lies.

The delivery men ruined my brand new wool carpet in the room as they didn’t wear protectors (still stained). Dfs customer service is shocking. I’d never buy from them ever again!

To be fair, we had a different experience with DFS. We ordered a sofa in September, advised of the delivery time (January) and asked if we would accept it earlier. It arrived in December. There was plenty of communication from DFS, the delivery was straightforward and the delivery men adhered to the restrictions and protocols in place at the time.

Love your user name - that’s what I have gone for 3 big blue velvet sofas haha

Recently my friend got a great sofa from sofology. A long wait but gorgeous when it was installed. There was an issue with the electrics on one part of the recliner but customer service were great, they came back out almost immediately and sorted it very quickly.

I on the other hand went with DFS and waited 9-10 weeks with no updates (ETA was 7) and then one part of my order physically couldn't be delivered, despite all the measurements being correct. The delivery guys were baffled as that particular chair style could not be broken down any further and could not be delivered through a standard door. They said usually on chairs the arms and other bits come off to fit in normal doors, but not this one. So it had to go back. I was told a different version of the chair could be ordered which would definitely fit and my local store manager would call me back to sort it. Nobody did. Then after several more calls from me, the web team were supposed to call me to sort it. Nobody did. The customer care phone line people couldn't help each time I rang as apparently they're all working from home and can't transfer calls, so you're just constantly stuck waiting for someone to ring back. The online chat people were equally clueless until I got lucky and someone who finally saw the issue managed to order me the replacement without setting up a new order and new finance agreement. However the figures don't add up with what I'd already paid, so I'm showing as being in credit with DFS which I obviously don't need, but my finance agreement is separate and they can't sort that, and nobody I speak to can work out how to get the 'in credit' amount back to either the finance or directly to me. Over 2 weeks on and I'm still waiting for store manager/web team/anybody to call me back to fix it and give me the refund. So based on this I'd say definitely not DFS!! Although the one part of the furniture they did successfully deliver is very nice, the hassle with things going wrong is not worth the gamble IMO.

I'd have a look at Furniture Village instead. Better quality in my experience.

Recently got a sofa from DFS and it took 5 weeks from order to delivery. I cannot fault their customer service and even now when we've had a minor issue with it (not their fault), their customer service has been excellent and they've bent over backwards to make sure it's resolved.

LittleOwl2 · 27/06/2022 21:11

Ours is from next and it’s amazing… it just doesn’t seem to get old!!

WishILivedInThrushGreen · 27/06/2022 21:35

Had a DFS sofa , admittedly a few years ago.

Got fed up , quite quickly as to why the back cushions drooped so quickly , despite regular plumping.
Turns out it's because they're filled with bulking stuffing that quickly lose their shape.

After a little while , we'd lost a tv remote.
I put my hand down the back of the sofa to rummage and brought my hand back out with a gash due to an exposed screw.

Staggeringly, we eventually replaced it with a sofa from Harvey's.
And yes, the same story again with sagging back cushions and yes, there's also an exposed screw down the back but only suffered a cut this time.

Our best sofa is a Laura Ashley one that has survived both the Harvey's and DFS one.
Sad that it's been bought out.

We have an CFS (Sofology) sofa. It’s leather and about ten years old now. It’s starting to now wear down, but it’s what I’d expect with kids bouncing on it.

WishILivedInThrushGreen · 27/06/2022 22:08

As to Next, we bought a snuggle seat and had to replace the seat pad due to sagging less than a year after buying it . ( Really should have complained.)

£140 later, the upholsterer told us that our seat pad was made of the cheapest, lowest grade foam and that she'd seen it many times.

Dressme2023 · 27/06/2022 22:21

We ordered from Sofology in October and they finally delivered our sofas 3 weeks ago.
It should have been 8-10 weeks.
Their customer service was awful, I would steer clear of them to be honest :(

HereLiesBetelgeuse · 27/06/2022 22:27

Can you go and see them in real life? We looked online and thought we'd found the perfect sofa at Sofology but when we went to look it was awful. Everything in the shop also looked sized for a dolls house. I was like a giant trying out some of the arm chairs and I'm only just over 5ft

KurriKawari · 27/06/2022 23:42

@Dressme2023 I ordered two sofas from Sofology in December, excuse after excuse and this weekend they admitted they'd lost them :/

sofamystery · 28/06/2022 22:52

Its all so mixed!

I wouldn’t recommend Sofology purely based on quality. Ours started falling apart just after the warranty ran out. Sagging arms, all the buttons have fallen off. It looked naff within a year. Only putting off replacing while the dog is still young but no way would I go back to Sofology.
