I have just tried to cold turkey it after falling asleep before taking my dose a few nights in a row then carrying on.

Its been a week and today I feel so dizzy, tired and emotional that I just started taking it again.

I do want to come off them. But how can I taper off them without too many side effects?

Please advise

Snap the tablet in half, take them every day. Then take them alternate days.

That's what the GP told me to do, but it doesnt sound like you're doing this under supervision?

I have been discharged from CBT therapy as they feel my anxiety has improved and I want to start weening off the tablets.

I hate that I feel beholden to them and I feel ashamed 😞.

Talk to your GP

You wouldn't be ashamed of taking medication for any other condition.

Please don't come off them if you're not ready. Some of us take them as a lifelong medicine to survive.

Stay on them until you've spoken to your GP for a proper review. Relapse is almost a certainty if you aren't ready.

Also, think laterally - do you think people, other than you, should be ashamed of taking antidepressants? If not, why do you think you should be ashamed?
