Your weirdest eccentricity?

I think most of mine are sensory issues:
Whatever I'm wearing, I need to have a cotton layer next to my skin.
I need to carry nail clippers so that I can deal with a hangnail IMMEDIATELY
I can't sleep without socks on, no matter how summery it is
I can only get out of bed on a "round" number divisible by 5 eg not 8.02am but 8.05am. Ideally a quarter, half or whole hour.
As mentioned by someone on a previous thread, I can only do one "thing" a day like I wouldn't do a big shopping trip AND a major social engagement on the same day.

I'm quite obsessed with the idea of great British eccentrics eg someone who only ever wears purple and has a brandy at 12 noon sharp every day, that sort of thing.

What eccentricity do you have?
Do you know of any great eccentricities which I can cultivate? :-D

This probably a lame one but given the option I will always sleep with my bedroom door open. DP sleeps nude so I can't often but when he's away or I'm at Dads I always leave the door wide open. I find the sounds of housemates/ cat / people moving around really soothing and comforting.

I have many cups. To choose one I have to picture myself drinking from a particular one before I choose!
Also can't leave a raggy nail....

I can't leave a raggy nail either!

I smell books. Old ones. Whenever I see a really old book I can't help but smell it! My boyfriend thinks it's a charming eccentricity 😂

I'm not sure if this can be described as weird but I have two capsule wardrobes so I alternate between them - as I'm wearing brown today it'll be blue tomorrow and I rarely waiver from this.

I'm not good at maths but I quite like some numbers. When I switch the telly off at the end of the day I put the volume down to 5. When knitting I count the stitches in multiples of 15 or 30 so if I put it down in the middle of a row I do so after 30 stitches. I count the items of crockery/cutlery on the draining board and try to get it up to 10 or 15. If I play a game of patience I'll have three games. It's almost like a superstition but I can't say that it's helped to avoid bad luck or attract good.

If I’m waking down a road or path with another person I have to walk on the left. I’ve nearly been run over several times and have also fallen into a canal whilst trying to get on their left hand side.

I have to wear 2 pairs of socks at once. I have thinner cotton socks for the inside layer and then usually bamboo or goats wool socks for the outer layer.

although ds1 just bought me some padded bamboo trainer socks which I only wear 1 pair of at a time.

unless I’m wearing sandals 😂

I can't allow any food stuff to touch bread, toast or scones etc. unless there's butter on there first. I actually shudder at the thought of jam on dry bread. Scones are always butter, jam then cream because butter and cream beside each other is wrong to me but I couldn't put jam or cream on the scone without butter first.

None of my food on my plate can touch, especially if there's a sauce. Baked beans touching egg is the worst and I won't eat the egg at all if there's "bean juice" on it.

When I'm putting on socks and shoes it has to be right sock, left sock, right shoe, left shoe.

I can't start anything unless the time is on the hour or half hour. If I forget and it's 10.05 then I won't do it until 10.30.

TV volume has to be either on an even number or a prime number.
