Recipe boxes!

I'm a recent convert to mindful chef recipe boxes. I had got into a real rut with cooking, and I love the fact that they do the thinking and planning for me!

Just wondering if I should try any of the other recipe boxes that are out there? Does anyone have any recommendations?

Would be good to know what people think about the various companies in terms of price, freshness of ingredients, choice of meals (I'm pescatarian but eat mostly vegetarian food), healthiness of recipes, accuracy of recipe cooking times, portion sizes and of course how good the food is!!

I would also be interested in knowing if there are any companies that do boxes for a family of 3?

Thank you so much!

Hello Fresh do boxes for 3. We get them and we enjoy them very much. I can pass you a referral code for a free box if you like?

Simply Cook would generally accommodate three people. You have to buy your own fresh ingredients but that’s what I like. I can use fattest, nicest prawns if I’m feeling flush or swap to vegetarian only when I’m less so.

I use Gousto. We buy the 2 box option but they are generally quite big portions so stretch to 3. Let me know if you want a referral code.

We get Gousto. I started when DDs were older teens so that they would be motivated to cook - it work.

Now we are a family of 3 adults. Gousto recipes are generous, so a 2 person meal can easily stretch to 3. However, the price of a 2 person box is not a lot cheaper than a 4 person. Unless DS and DIL come over, we cook the same meal twice.

Gousto is £50 for 4 days x 4 people, easily spread out. So £3 per head with virtually no food waste, and lots of interesting ingredients.

We use hello fresh & Gousto.

Love them both and have a restaurant style meal 5 nights a week

We have started using gousto- the vegetarian options are fab. We are a family of 3 and find the 2 person size fine. As an aside we have lost weight too- not been having as many takeaways or pizza- other thing I have noticed is no food waste and shopping bill overall has come down as know exactly what we are having each work. I'd give it a go.

We don't allow promo codes on the main talk boards, so we're taking this down now.
