Mice

My neighbours are in the process of extending to make way for a new office as they're both now working from home full time.
We now seem to have a mouse running about in our homes, can hear it running around and scratching about. The work isn't near to being finished yet with lots of gaps in the exterior walls, although i know mice can get in the tiniest of gaps, so would any effort to get rid of them now be in vain?? I don't know what to do but the thought of them in my house just makes me feel ick!

Put some humane traps down (catch and release ones) with pieces of snickers or Mars bar inside.
