Don't know why I've remembered this but years ago there was an ITV show called Everything Must Go. In one episode Tutbury Castle were selling off loads of old stuff, and there was a young-ish woman who ended up winning a dress once worn by Mary Queen of Scots in an auction with an online bidder.
I think it's stuck in my memory because she seemed lovely and the people at the auction were genuinely cheering when she won the dress.
