Teen wants to travel Europe and get bar work

Does anyone have any experience of this.

Any advice, top tips, pitfalls and things to think about?

Sounds like a great summer ahead - wish I'd done it. Just want to make sure we've covered all bases and guided our teen appropriately and safely.

Thanks everyone for reminding me that Brexit has made this plan nigh on impossible for them and thanks also to those for the sensible suggestions for other routes for summer working. I'll suggest these options.

This sort of thing makes me livid about Brexit and the lying (all of it).

@4am Just be careful about some of the ones very far away as it may involve paying for expensive flights and if your DD hates it and starts doing the 'I want to come home' after 3 weeks- it's one heck of a cost

Sadly now unless she is an EU national that option has now gone

She could apply to "work away" which is volunteering to work in exchange for accomodation

This post has made me angry all over again about how opportunities have been taken away from my DC that were there for me. Hopefully once we get rid of the current Brexit loony government we can get some working holiday arrangements in place.
