Ugh little black flies on houseplants - can I spray them?

Various houseplants inc a large cheeseplant, 2 large umbrella plants, about 12 others.
Noticed small black flies on them / the soil in the pots (fresh general purpose compost soil around 4m ago). Suddenly everywhere...

What can I use to spray them with to kill the flies & not the plants please?
I have dog & a child with asthma...

Yes you can buy stuff from garden dept in stores like B&M Wilko etc. Doesn't kill the plants. Also helpful to cover the top layer of soil with small stones . It lessens the amount of eggs being laid in the soil

Also the sticky fly paper is good for capturing them!

Mix water with washing up liquid and use a spray bottle to spray them, it suffocates the flies.

I don't know if this always works but if weather is warm like it is now, I find putting the houseplant outside for a week or so gets rid of them. More predators to eat them up? I then take back indoors
