How can we help?

There have been several threads lately about the massive hike in the cost of living and how many people are struggling day to day.

We are very fortunate not to be especially affected, for a number of reasons. This is not a stealth boast at all, we would genuinely like to know what we can do to help. Any ideas, apart from donating to the food bank which we already do? I am thinking local, practical ways but not sure what is best.

TIA.

Donating to the local food bank is great. We do that and apart from upping thè amount its enough x

@FourChimneys I guess it depends how you can help really. I'd say keeping an eye on any neighbours, but especially the elderly or those with young kids. The elderly are often very good at being frugal & not turning the heating in, but forget they're not as young & active as they once were & doing themselves a great deal of harm sitting in bloody cold houses & not getting the grants they're entitled to.

Another way to help practically is to offer to be a driver for the elderly/vulnerable for hospital appointments/shopping.

just being there to listen & have a chat.
