DFS Sofa

I’m moving house at the end of July and wanted a shiny new sofa for my living room. Went into DFS store and ordered said, shiny new, couch.. told delivery would not be until a few days before we move, which would let them tie into a delivery date after we were in new house.

I’ve just had a million texts and phone calls re arranging delivery for next week… to a house I don’t yet live in. Their customer services are closed until tomorrow but I’m now flapping about what I can do… there is no room for it at my rental house… Does anytime know if they’ll force me to accept delivery? Or can they store?

Foot note - a million is an exaggeration, it was only 8 text messages, 4 emails and 2 missed calls.

and before anyone says… I was working all day, so didn’t have my phone to answer!

Do you have an order confirmation with delivery on a specified date? Or was it just that the estimated timeline they gave you fell after you'd be in your new house. Bit of a difference either way.

tell them you can’t accept delivery until you’re in your new house. You will have to provide the new address and possibly proof of address for them to change it.
you have just appeared on their system as due date imminent and they’re contacting you to arrange delivery. Don’t panic. As long as you’re not putting off delivery for months and months it will be fine.
