How much do you spend on a day trip to the beach?

Thinking a head to the summer holidays and always see the beach recommended as a cheap day out. So realistically when it’s not during a holiday or a special day out how much do you budget for a day trip to the beach? This is assuming you take a picnic, drinks and sand toys from home.

£9 to park in national trust car park.

£15 on ice creams
Total £24

We take a picnic and facilities are free once you've parked.

On a cheaper beach day we would do another good beach park and ride for £4 and take a picnic. Total £4

Parking is often the main cost these days. Ice cream is optional.

I've read your update OP - and you obviously had a big day out in a seaside town. Which is great fun and I hope it cheered up your DD. I get it - you are only as happy as your unhappiest child and all that & we will literally do anything when that child is really struggling. BUT you can definitely have a great day out without spending quite that much - look for a lovely Sandy beach without all the seaside attractions - spending time with her, laughing with her, showing her life can be good doesn't always mean chucking money at it. I don't know what your budget is like, but I'd suggest even if you have a limitless budget you show her how to have a good time without loads of cash too. Because that is also a kindness.
