It's unopened and refrigerated. Ok to use a week after the date?

Open it and check. If it stinks: no.

If it smells okay and has no visible signs of mould, it will be fine. We had one two weeks out of date last week, and no ill effects.

i write the best before date in black marker now, it is so harder to find it and often, read it on the pack.

You will know if it is bad as it will smell a bit tangy instead of creamy. It may also have mould. If it smells nice and looks nice then it's all good.

I ate a whole Boursin 10 days past it's use by date this week and I am fine.

Mozzarella and feta freeze well, for future reference, especially if you're using them in cooking.

If it’s a mozzarella ball in a bag, when those go bad they normally produce gas and the bag swells up. If the bag looks normal and it smells ok I’m sure it’s fine.

If it smells fine use it to make Nigella's today's recipe of the day

Gave my kids food poisoning with this this week. Defrosted it, sliced it and put it in a salad.

6 months max in the freezer (it was 8) and freeze without the liquid was recommended by one website.
It was also highly recommended that you only use frozen mozzarella if you know you will cook it.
