Slightly embarrassing food cravings

Fish paste. Specifically Sardine and Tomato, in little jars. We had it in sandwiches when I was growing up. I thought they'd stopped making it but it's still available. I know it's probably a by-product of the sardine-canning industry and I'm not going to think too deeply about what's in it, but I find myself craving a slice of buttered toast with that ultimate umami, salty, fishy flavour. Mmmmmm. Wonder if they sell it at the corner shop?

And while I'm getting nostalgic, do they still make Heinz sandwich spread?

I've not seen Sandwich Spread for a while but m with you on sardine and tomato paste as well as salmon paste / spread.

Heavenly, and a cheap meal.

And there I was thinking I was the only one. I'll look out for sandwich spread.

I love a sardine and tomato paste sandwich, like you I grew up with them so it’s a comfort food.

They still do sandwich spread. Ocado has a charming habit of if they run out of pots of fresh deli fillers, giving uou a jar of sandwich bloody spread instead, I’ve started refusing it as realised I’ve three jars now and no one likes it. 😂

Omg how weird I woke up craving sardines in tomato sauce on toast. Haven’t had it since I was a kid ! All my cravings have been really sudden, really urgent and then as soon as I eat it the thought of ever eating it again is absolutely repulsive. I’ll be out of options by the end of the first semester ...
