Help me oh wise mumsnetters, I'm looking to make around 50 sweet cones for a party. Roughly in grams how much per cones is needed ? Was going to go for a mix of millions, pick n mix, strawbs or something like that so I know its a real mix up but wondering how many kgs of sweets I'll need to buy?!

I don't have a clue about the millions because they are so light but take up a good bit of space but I would guess around 150g of sweets for the rest, depending on how big your cones are. If you are getting a bulk discount/large packs I would buy in the region of 7kg to start and see how it goes. Plus the millions. If you are buying with Tesco or somewhere I would buy a couple of small packs, make up a cone and then weight and work it out.

I'd say between 150-200g of sweets per cone depending on a)age of person receiving them and b) size of cone...

Thanks that's roughly what I thought 🙂

Oh God don't put Millions in there. 50% end up on the floor. The other 50% end up sticky and stuck to things.

Millions are the best and they fill in the little gaps to make the cones look fuller.

I'm on the PTA and when we make them we usually do Millions in the bottom, then small marshmallows/shrimps and bananas, then jazzies/buttons/pink and white mice then flying saucers on the top

@girlmom21 no Millions are evil. The sweet equivalent of flipping Hama beads 😂

Sorry the millions are definitely in...if only so I can eat any leftovers...😆
