Apart from the fact they changed their name to STARBURST ffs and I'm still not over it, there are now no yellow ones!!!😱

Jelly tots aren't the same either, they were lovely originally. Are they still around?

Yes you can definitely still get Jelly Tots.

My mum bought a massive tube of them for my 8 month old son at Christmas. Well sadly he isn't allowed sweets yet and Jelly Tots are clearly a choking hazard, so I had to eat them.

In the mid-90s they did a tropical range of Opal Fruits (might have been just after they changed to Starburst) which had flavours like mango and pineapple, and the peach ones were delicious. Sometimes I still taste them in my mouth!

I loved these!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 13/06/2022 21:15

I bet y'all remember "Pacers" spearmint with green stripes .

Toddlerteaplease · 13/06/2022 21:15

Is there still a green one?

maddiemookins16mum · 13/06/2022 21:15

I miss Pacers.

Jelly Tots are rubbish now. They made them fatter and they just don't taste the same 🙁

WimbyAce · 13/06/2022 22:40

Have to say I am a fan of all 3, jelly tots, pastilles and starburst!

StPaulandTheBrokenBones · 13/06/2022 22:55

I’m still pissed off that I can’t buy Spangles anymore. Or proper sherbet pips or cola cubes with the soft bit inside.

And I realise that Sugar Puffs are not sweets but what the fuck have they done to them?

Isaidnoalready · 13/06/2022 22:57

I suppose my dentist will be pleased they fucked up all my favourite sweets

ShirleyJackson · 13/06/2022 23:04

I still dream of Toffos. The strawberry ones and the banana ones were heaven.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 13/06/2022 23:08

babyjellyfish · 13/06/2022 20:59

Can you still get Chewits?

Yes I had some strawberry ones recently

SunflowerSmith · 13/06/2022 23:49

I don't remember there ever being a yellow Starburst, I thought it was always orange, green, red and purple

Iceland was selling retro Opal Fruits earlier this year.

Utterly lovely to have the four proper flavours!

They had them I home bargins too , I nought about a dozen bags over a few days and munched them over the next few weeks .

Sliceofpi · 13/06/2022 23:54

Well, I’m still missing Spangles and Lord Toffingham ice cream lollies

AmberLynn1536 · 13/06/2022 23:57

God I loved Spangles! The sweet itself had a dip in the middle and after eating a packet they always left the roof of my mouth sore, this never deterred me eating them though. They also used to do a ‘old English’ version they were delicious!

Try AQuarterOf.co.uk They do tons of old fashioned sweets, like proper aniseed balls and the beer jelly pint glasses. I have banned myself from the site as I could easily spend all my money there

Squiff70 · 14/06/2022 00:07

Fruitella taste like plastic
Opal Fruits likewise
Chewits was the food of the Gods in the 80s and 90s - especially the fruit salad ones. The ice cream flavour were vile. Home Bargains still sell Chewits
Does anyone remember the original Jolly Ranchers? I still cringe at the watermelon flavoured one
What happened to super sour Jawbreakers? They are no longer sour and definitely nothing like as hard
Bring back aniseed rock- the broken stuff that actually tasted of aniseed and not that awful spiral stuff posing as aniseed rock
Whilst I'm on my sweetie soapbox, what the actual fuck did Foxes do to Glacier Mints? They taste of glucose syrup now and little else.

Sad times 😢

I remember these exact ones and think of them often. That's sadly true

Don'tknowwhichnametopick · 14/06/2022 01:09

@Sliceofpi nobody remembers Lord Toffingham. The lovely gooey toffee on the stick. Miss these so much. Thanks for proving I haven't lost the plot.

WithTheTide · 14/06/2022 01:38

All hail Rowntrees fruit gums! The fruit shaped ones in the large packet. Absolute star of filling loosening joy. I live in Australia now and found them in the International food aisle. I love the way some sweets can transport you back. A close second to the original opal fruit.

They've been sugary shite for years now, along with Smarties which taste of nothing!

Jelly tots too.
And fruitella.
God I remember when Smarties were bright little e numbers.
Smarties are bringing out white chic version though. I need to try them.
