Evri redelivery charge?!

Stopallthisnonsense · 12/06/2022 21:32

I received a text at 20:51 this evening to say an Evri driver had unsuccessfully tried to deliver a parcel today. Fair enough, I thought, we were out for a few hours this afternoon. Click on the link to reschedule. So I follow the link and it tells me the attempt was as 12:51 when we were all at home with a dog who barks when someone knocks at the door. So either complete bullshit or the wrong time entered. But then they want to charge me a redelivery fee!!! Bloody cheek! I am going to complain to M&S and ask for a refund before I do that out of principle. Anyone else had the same?

Scam!!!

godmum56 · 12/06/2022 21:33

Its a scam.....a really well known old scam

Notwashingup · 12/06/2022 21:34

Scam, don’t give them your bank details. If you have, cancel your card straightaway.

KangarooKenny · 12/06/2022 21:34

I had an email saying my parcel had been delivered and it was in the porch. I don’t have a porch.
Took 2 days for the person who had taken it in to drop it round. It had the right address on, delivered to the wrong house.

RedCarsGoFaster · 12/06/2022 21:34

Sounds more like a scam - check who it's really sent from.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 12/06/2022 21:35

I get these all the time . Well known scam

Roominmyhouse · 12/06/2022 21:35

Yeah that’s a scam. Genuine Evri redelivery isn’t charged to you.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/06/2022 21:39

Scam

Stopallthisnonsense · 12/06/2022 21:39

But I was expecting a parcel from Evri today. How do they know that?!

Muchtoomuchtodo · 12/06/2022 21:39

They don’t. Just a bit of luck on their timing.

Alwayswonderedwhy · 12/06/2022 21:42

Have you checked the email address?

QueenOfThorns · 12/06/2022 21:49

If it was really Evri, they would have shoved it in your hedge or put it in a wheelie bin 3 houses away…

skinnythick · 13/06/2022 01:08

it’s a very obvious scam

Ohtoberoavingagain · 13/06/2022 07:31

Evri will make 3 attempts to deliver a parcel and don’t charge a redelivery fee.

Have M&S sent you a tracking number? If so, track your parcel on Evri.

The whole “ redeliver for a fee” thing is a well known scam, I think you’ve been thrown because you were expecting a delivery.

If you followed the link, clear yoyr device. If you gave card details, cancel card immediately.

They don't. If they text enough people they'll hit on some that were expecting a parcel from Evri!

Have you checked the tracking of your parcel through the actual Evri website (not the one in the link on the text!)

GiltEdges · 13/06/2022 07:50

🤦🏼‍♀️

Notwashingup · 14/06/2022 21:02

If you give your card details they don’t take the small £1.79 or however much redelivery cost. They wait until later on and then use your details to take a large amount so you shouldn’t assume it’s ok as nothing has gone out of your account straight away. That’s why it’s important to cancel your card.
You can forward the number to SCAM on your keypad (google it) and then block the number. Pretty sure you’ll get a few now all from different parcel companies.
It happened to DM the day she was waiting for a parcel, just a coincidence but then she does loads of online shopping.
I block all the nuisance texts and O2 and Sky who do my head in!!

CruCru · 14/06/2022 21:58

This one, yeah?

Evri redelivery charge?!
Notwashingup · 14/06/2022 22:38

@CruCru yes, forward to 7726 (SPAM) and then send the number and block.

RDM · 26/08/2022 13:07

Yes I received one this morning. Evri will attempt 3 deliveries and do not charge a delivery fee

Hlp6 · 13/08/2023 13:44

Do they actually come to your house because it happened to me today and I have away my details. I was lucky enough to close my account but what about my address? If they do come what should I say? Play ignorant and turn them away?

What do you mean?

If you've received a scam text or email, no they won't come to your home - they just want you to give them your bank or card details to pay for an imaginary service. It's not actually about a human trying to make a legitimate delivery. Not sure what account you've closed, but if its a scam you've no need to take any action beyond reporting and blocking.

Hlp6 · 31/08/2023 16:12

So I got a call from my ‘bank’ and they said they want to block a transaction for something in Liverpool that I hadn’t made. They confirmed my address and then asked me to go on my app and see my current balance, asking if I have any other bank accounts, never asked for my details and then asked to send the an screenshot of the evri fraud message.

I immediately knew something was up and blocked them. They even said my old card number which I no longer used, trying to make me believe them. The call was 8 minutes before I ended it and blocked them.

GeraldTheGoodMouse · 31/08/2023 16:13

It is a scam and they were just lucky that it coincided with a day you were expecting a delivery.

Evri has an app so you can track parcels there.

MrsKwazi · 31/08/2023 16:15

This is a scam and i fell for it last week! Cancelled all my cards
