Older teachers if you've moved to dinner lady or TA role how have you been treated by teachers?

This is not a teacher bashing thread. I was a teacher that went into another role but now thinking about working in a school again but not as a teacher. Would you as a teacher welcome me as an ex teacher into your classroom/school in a supporting role? Or would you think I would be judging you?

Be careful you're not left with teaching responsibilities for ta pay just because you have the appropriate qualifications.

Covering the odd lesson, teacher absence etc.

MSA's are always treated as though they are invisible no matter what their qualifications

I was an assistant head in a secondary school and when I left there, spent a few months as a part time temporary TA in a primary. I didn’t particularly enjoy it and I think that most of the teachers didn’t know me at all.

Then I was part time SMT in another primary, which was fine until it became an academy.
