I'd really hope they do.

I just wasn’t sure if it meant has to be under £7400 earnings

currently on tax credits and there’s a different threshold for FSM but we are about to change over and I’m not sure where we would stand with the fsm aspect

So if you have zero earned income you get fsm it doesn’t mean you only qualify if have some kind of earned income under 7400 as I know they want it to be that working makes you better off so I wasn’t sure if it was a condition of receiving fsm

If you are on benefits only you get fsm.

GertiePie · 12/06/2022 16:22

If you have zero income from working you also get free school meals.

Forpoxsake · 12/06/2022 16:27

You should still get the FSM regardless of your new circumstances because of transitional protection.
Each DC should receive their FSM allowance until they reach next point of education eg if they’re in primary they’ll get it til Year 6 and then it will stop when they get to Secondary school.

However if you’re both not working your DC will always qualify for FSM anyway.

Yes you get free school meals on any income up to that point so most definitely zero earned income.
