Lump behind right ear

Sorry to post about this, I know I need to go and see the doctor which I will do. But it’s the weekend (not in UK.) and I just wanted to get some reassurance because I’m freaking out. Yesterday I felt a small lump behind my right ear just sort of underneath the earlobe. It’s a little bit tender not moving too much. Pea sized. I’m freaking out because I know of a mum who found a lump behind the ear that turned out to be cancer and she died a few months later. Is this likely just a lymph node? Is this common? I’m in my late 30s never felt this before.

Sounds like your glands are up. Are you feeling under the weather with something? If I get a mouth ulcer I often have a bumpy lymph node on the same side.

I do have an ulcer that side!

I had one a few years ago. It disappeared.

Perhaps give it a few days? Try not to worry!

I get pea sized lumps just behind my earlobe. Had loads of them. They are cysts. I have found applying a hot flannel to them for a few minutes a day gets them to go down pretty quickly.

@TooManyPJs thanks will try that

I've had this a few times, usually when ill or about to be ill. Still see your GP if you worried though.

@Runkle thank you
