Winking men?

Do men wink at each other as well as winking at women? Do they wink for any specific reason?

Just wondering as had a tradesman wink at me in thanks for booking him, nothing weird or flirty, and wondered if he'd wink at DH.

Some do. My mates DH is a winker. Shakes hands with everyone too.

My son has Tourette’s and suppresses very well in public, but he has a winking tic and really really worries about women taking it the wrong way.

Tics are common enough. So that could be an explanation (rather than Tourette’s).

A woman I know does this a lot, usually to emphasise a point. I think that's what it is... I've never thought anything much of it until this thread.

I love a wink. Especially a cheeky one. Harmless and inoffensive from men or women.

I accidentally winked at the waiter after he bought the bill for me n partner on our first date 🤣 I never wink! I said thank you and... Partner said "did you just wink at waiter?" Erm ... Yes, I did! Then we both looked shocked and collapsed into giggles. Maybe I was subconsciously trying to relate the the waiter that a good night was on the cards!

I'd never be worried or offended by a wink! I think it's a gentle informal sign of geniality.
