Is there rules on which badges go on the next sections uniform for GGing?

DD is about to move up to Brownies.

She has got quite a lot of Rainbows Badges.

She knows not all of them go on her Brownies Uniform but is there a rule on which ones can and can't?

She knows her anniversairy badge goes on the Brownie Uniform but she also wants her Jubilee, Thinking Day, Bronze and Silver badges to go. She says that as she gains the Thinking Day and/or Bronze and Silver Brownies these will be moved onto her camp blanket (which she doesn't have yet).

Is this allowed? I was never a Girlguide so I don't know.

Her unit don't do Pot Of Gold so she won't have that badge to go on.

Generally badges earned in rainbows do not transfer to the Brownie uniform (one or two exceptions). If she is really keen on displaying them why not get a camp blanket and put them all on there. Keep the Brownie uniform for badges earned in brownies, there will be lots of them!

Personally, I'd get a blanket and just sew them straight onto that. Saves unpicking and resewing!

We normally say they can keep their highest award badge.

We give our Rainbows metal pin badges for their awards, so if she has a silver pin I would add that her to Brownie uniform.

But none of the others, she will get loads more in Brownies.

Not sure why her rainbows don't give Pot of Gold? It doesn't require any activities but hey ho.

Only the Pot of Gold and highest section award (so in her case - silver) should go on the brownie uniform. She will get a new promise badge etc.

There are no official GG rules about badge placement - although some units have produced their own, such as linked above.

I would recommend getting a blanket and moving her rainbow badges onto there. @GuidingSpirit I don't know why they don't do Pot of Gold, I did ask the Leaders if they did it and they said they don't do it.

So maybe just Silver, Anniversairy, Thinking Day and Jubilee on Brownies uniform?

I have got her a camp blanket, but it's going to be a Christmas present, I'm going to sew all the badges from Rainbows onto it before I give it her, I've been told her first camp won't be until Spring anyway so plenty of time. She's impatient so will prefer it to be "done" than not when I give it to her.

Just silver on her brownie uniform. Everything else on camp blanket.

Spoken to Brown Owl and she's happy for any badges DD wants to go on her uniform as long as they get replaced by the Brownies badges when she gets that or a similar badge.
