Just that really, mid price range any brand. Reliable and not 100s of programmes I won't use, maybe a delicates or hand-wash option.

I've got a Bosch. John Lewis. About £500. Very quiet. Washes clothes. No complaints. Good energy efficiency raiting.

I have a Bosch too. It is about 5 years old now and no problems. Bought it for something like £300.

My previous machine was also a Bosch and went on for almost 20 years trouble free.
