What might you say in response? What might you think it was?

If anyone else would like to share "stuff on local marketplace" offerings...

What a lovely woodland scene 😂

MrsEricBana · 07/06/2022 22:31

I'd say, erm thanks so much, what is it?

JaneJeffer · 07/06/2022 22:34

I would say did you get a receipt?

Johnnysgirl · 07/06/2022 22:36

Is it a Christmas tree decoration? I've got a similar one with penguins in it, don't fancy yours much Grin
What can you say but thank you?

Trainfromredhill · 07/06/2022 22:38

It’s a Christmas decoration that their 5 yr old made at school. If they are likely to see your Christmas tree every year and you are close to them then you probably need to get it out every year. If you aren’t close to them then it can go in the bin.

Hugasauras · 07/06/2022 22:39

Was it made by a young child?

TheFoodtheFadandtheFugly · 07/06/2022 22:43

A friend of mine runs a craft business and was searching for items on an online marketplace. She sent it to us on a group chat for our opnion. This was advertised as something like 'fairy house with mushrooms.'

MarmiteOnToast · 07/06/2022 23:25

Yes loch ness.
Most unwanted gifts i donate to charity or school raffle etc
But i would be embarrassed to donate that

DockOTheBay · 07/06/2022 23:25

It looks like one of The Clangers driving a race car...

RJnomore1 · 07/06/2022 23:26

It’s a ladybird on a penis in a Christmas bauble is it not ?

the market for it may be a bit niche.

Neu · 07/06/2022 23:28

Moomins inside a Christmas bauble.

Beaut. And. Bin.

Neu · 07/06/2022 23:29

No hang on more like a Clanger!!

HollowTalk · 07/06/2022 23:34

I'd say don't make me keep it!

DropYourSword · 07/06/2022 23:39

Aw, people are being mean. It's kind of fun.

Johnnysgirl · 07/06/2022 23:44

Tbh, there are a whole load of fairy garden yokes in Poundland at the moment that put that to shame.
I'll bet it didn't cost a quid, either.

lifecanbehardattimes · 07/06/2022 23:49

It's something made by a child

Alwayswonderedwhy · 07/06/2022 23:49

I wouldn't really want a gift made my someone else's child so I'd think it was a bit odd.

OhThatChicken · 07/06/2022 23:55

"Aaaaah a diseased penis globe, just what I've always wanted."

ChocolateHippo · 07/06/2022 23:55

"Oops, I dropped it. Was so gutted!"

Davros · 07/06/2022 23:56

It's rather scary to look at 🗑

SunflowerGardens · 07/06/2022 23:57

OhThatChicken · 07/06/2022 23:55

"Aaaaah a diseased penis globe, just what I've always wanted."

I thought that too! A penis with a wart on top and mushrooms growing out of it.

dudsville · 08/06/2022 00:25

I think it would be a nice Christmas ornament for a pagan. I'm not joking.

It reminds me though of once when i was given a knitted plant. Whole thing was knitted, including the pot.

Another craft gift was a sewn fabric wall hanging. It didn't go with any of my styles.

Lots of effort go into crafty things, and they can be really lovely, but they still need to suit the person.

BorisJohnsonsvomitbucket · 08/06/2022 00:46

"Oh thank you!" I'd fake it.

Penis Clanger!

My cousin once bought me a key holder shaped like a Red Indian/Indigenous American which was stuck on a piece of plywood and something like "BJ's Vomit Buckets keys" burned into it. It was horrible. I kept it for the standard six months getting it out as required until it mysteriously went missing...

Basilbrushgotfat · 08/06/2022 00:49

Oh I see it wasn't a real gift lol

Well, then...Nice idea, poorly executed.
