Yes, especially given the info says 'proper nouns are generally not allowed.' . However, most of them actually are also 'normal' nouns, it's just that the association is with the other version.

I suppose the relevance of AuntyStella's list is a matter of opinion. (however, probably unlikely to help her)

987, 969, 966, 930, they are all companies that are not otherwise words for anything.
Then there are all the acronyms, surnames, single letters, all in the 900s. That word list is a disaster. At least it's not full of swear words.

999 is an acronym for what target is.

@Aroundtheworldin80moves @MrsLargeEmbodied not quite. 999 is the initials for the thing 1000 uses to make it work. There are several types of 999 but 1000 is specific.

987, 969, 966, 930, they are all companies that are not otherwise words for anything.

987 has a derived non-proper noun meaning, there's a few others like that. 966 also has a completely different meaning!

Well, that's the new thing I know today! I know people who work for some of the companies on the list, and they didn't know the names meant anything real.

Actually, if you know a bit of the relevant history, it's more related than many people realise.

956 is the right sort of field.

Target isn't a brand name itself, and oddly its own brand name is not on the list (similarity of 24, I checked!)
