Insomnia - what time do you give up?

I've been awake all night. I've done all the 'right things' but it's 4.40am now and I have to be up in three hours for work. What time do I give up trying completely? What do you do?

it so horrid when you get zero sleep though, hope you get through today and have some rest tonight.

I'll be fine today and probably sleep like a log tonight. The worst I'll have is a nasty headache in the afternoon. Once I'm up, though, I'm usually find after a bad night. Just frustrating and hard knowing it's not going to help me get over this never ending cold I've had for nearly a month now.

I usually make a cup of Clipper sleep tea, it normally helps.

I've been awake since 1.30am. I'm on holiday so 1 hr ahead of you. I have 'painsomnia' - I have chronic pain and disability anyway. These beds on holiday are too hard and its ruining it for me. I have no energy in the daytime to do anything but still can't sleep at night.

I don't know when to give up either. Yesterday I fell asleep at 6.30 and woke at 9. It was lovely just to get that bit extra.

I think if I was working from home today I'd keep trying but honestly, I think I'll feel worse waking up after 2-3 hours only. Lots of caffeine today until just after lunch then an early night tonight I think!
