I hate being an introvert

Does anyone else feel like this? I’ve spent 3 hours at a street/family party and have had to leave as I just couldn’t take any more even though everyone was perfectly nice and friendly. I feel like such a loser. I pretended to have stuff to do so I could get away. I really wanted to enjoy it and I had a good go at chatting to people but I feel like they find me boring and awkward.
I wish I didn’t feel this way. I don’t really have any good friends and though I am very happy being on my own I would like to have people over and host social stuff.
Just feel a bit pathetic today.

I just tell people straight up. 'Hey hey, I've had such a great time but you know me, it gets a bit much for me after a bit so I'm going to bid a cheery goodbye. Hope you see you soon'. Eventually everyone you know, knows that it's just how you are and they don't have a problem. If they go then they aren't important enough to bother worrying about

It's perfectly normal to feel this way. I normally give up after 1 hour and will excuse myself for the bathroom/food/taking calls/helping out/"admiring your great library!" etc.
