I went to my local town centre today and wanted to treat myself

I went into Boots and got a consultation with a lovely rep from No7 and came away with a nice cleanser and an under eye concealer. No hard sell at all and some samples.

Then went into another shop purchased some items and went back to my car

Realised that I didn't have the Boots bag as I had left it in the second shop

Quickly ran back to the self service checkouts where I had paid and asked the assistants if it had been handed in - no joy

Tried customer services and also no joy

If I had found the bag by the checkouts, I would have handed it in

So if you were in Romford today and picked up a Boots bag in Asda and took it home thanks, hope it suits you

Also before anyone says I am lucky to have been able to purchase in the first place, my husband is disabled. He only gets PIP and I work full time and am his full time carer

I don't treat myself very often at all, this is rare and I had saved for it

Bloody bastards. I had a whole Jo Malone bag filled with JM products (did a big christmas shop there one year when feeling a bit flush), and somebody stole it from right under my nose while I was paying for a coffee.

I hate people who steal things.

I am so sorry, you must be gutted.

WeDoNotTalktoPennilynLott · 04/06/2022 20:03

Sorry this happened, it's crap isn't it?

I was under the impression though that you couldn't be a full time carer AND work full time. You're only allowed to earn so much. I'm a carer myself and honestly you must be superwoman! I'm knackered just doing that. So indeed a well deserved treat

TreeP0se · 04/06/2022 20:06

Write it off and go and treat yourself again op. Only way 💄

Someone stole my dry cleaning from Starbucks as I was in the loo changing my newborn baby’s nappy. I’m not really extravagant enough to have anything dry cleaned but it was my good wool winter coat and a lambswool throw for thé sofa so I could snuggle up in it all the nights I was up with the bairn. I was gutted.

sorry OP, that’s rubbish for you.

Contact ASDA again. They have CCTV at the checkouts. May shed some light on it.

FelixDoublyDelicious · 04/06/2022 20:46

Hi @WeDoNotTalktoPennilynLott

I work full time from home, but cannot claim for anything so am doing it all

I have no support and looking after someone with a disability that can barely walk, whilst having a stressful job is what I do. That is why I class myself as a full time carer

And it is not passports or driving licenses

Not looking for sympathy, just a tad disappointed as thread title suggests

I used to work in Romford many many years ago. As a penniless student I had a leather purse with a £5 note in it, lost it on a bus, had my ID in it and a lovely lady returned it to me. £5 was fortune to me then. I used to thank the ATM when it gave me money !! Hopefully karma will sort the shXtbag out in the long grass who stole your stuff.
