Feeling physically aware of your body

Not sure I can articulate this well but here goes….

Just looked at a picture of a slim bronzed celeb in the sun and it made me wonder if they feel as soft and smooth and cool looking as they look.

I'm about 2st overweight and so because I’m carrying a bit more chunk, I’m really conscious of my body and how squishy I am. And in the heat, that I get clammy and sweaty. I’m also pale so feel like I look like I don’t belong in the sun and should permanently be somewhere autumnal.

Like if I wear shoes without socks or pop socks I feel awfully aware of my feet and they particularly look nice either. Where’s as friends with bronzed feet look lovely in sandals and without socks.

my legs are mottled, I feel it as much on the inside as they look on the outside. I never look sunkissed, I look shiny and odd.

So if you are lithe and not squishy and golden-tanned, do you also feel smooth and non-clammy. You look it. But do you feel it?

Like if you don’t have a flabby tum and bingo wings do feel more comfortable in yourself? I guess you would be keen to hear from people “in the know” 🤪

I mean if I embark on a weight loss journey, I bloody well want to feel lithe and smooth, as well as looking it…

kind of. I am slim and know I look slim. When I make a massive effort I am smooth and look it. But then my posture is quite poor and I am 45 so I sometimes catch a glimpse of myself and look much older in my head than I feel! I think the key is to try and be comfortable. I have really small boobs and envy those with curvy bodies!

And actually being brown from being in the sun makes your skin really leathery and scaly. Use tanning lotion if you’re that bothered?

Cinnabomb · 04/06/2022 18:19

Also echoing don’t get a real sun tan, absolutely one of the worst things you can do for your skin long term!!

but yes I feel better when I am slimmer.

Yes, from my experience being slim feels really lovely, kind of free, light. I'm trying to lose weight to get back to that feeling as I hate the chub rub, the belly sitting on my lap. I've never been cool or beautiful-I bet that must feel amazing!

Need to remind myself that nothing tastes as good as skinny feels 😄

EmmaH2022 · 04/06/2022 18:24

I used to be thin and felt it, so to speak

i am now fat and don’t feel it as much as I see it, but that’s probably just as well.

I mean yeah.. I like being slim because of how it feels. I'm also pasty pale and I like that, too.
