Dads allowed?

Two reasons I'm here....

First, ideas about time with my daughter, (and no doubt soon to ask about puberty/boys advice!). We have lots of fun now but as she's approaching double figures I know that our relationship and her likes will change...

Secondly, just to meet people. I only have my daughter every other weekend. I wish so I had much more so afraid I can't fully empathise with the full time single mum's out there - so much respect for you all so completely sympathise though!

Anyway, I'm a dad. Hope that's welcome round here? But the equivalent sites either seem to be very quiet or very "issue-focussed". If not, thanks for letting me steal your attention for a few moments.

Yes it's for parents l. Don't start posts with 'As a man...' unless it's relevant. There are plenty of men, parenting and posting.

Welcome to the jungle that is the wonderful forest of mumsnet, where many topics of discussion can be had, basically a digital penny university.

The site is called Mumsnet but the strapline is "by parents for parents". In fact there are boards for all sorts of topics so it's not even just for parents.Smile

Also, is there a sticky someone can point me to with the common abbreviations on here? Like a new language...

There's a list of acronyms somewhere but I can't find it! Someone will put up a link, I'm sure.

Anyway, welcome to MN.

Errol beat me to it. But welcome.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/06/2022 00:43

The acronym list isn't complete, some boards will develop their own for specific purposes - if in doubt, ask. Plus there's some rude ones.Grin

I will admit I tried to be the language police, but some posters did have a discussion with me and explained, the swearing, is part of mumsnet uniqueness.
