Anyone got an airfryer? Any recommendations? Are they worth it?

Yes. So handy and cheap to run. The Ninja ones are great but Aldi do a small one I think. We use ours most days.

Silverbirch2 · 03/06/2022 17:47

@PoorMegHopkins what do you cook in it ? Is it ok for family meals?

You need a bigger capacity one for that.
chips and veggie burgers are amazing. Jacket potato- nuke first then bung it in.
i haven’t discovered half of what mine can do mind!

Pretty much anything you can oven cook or pan fry you can cook in the air fryer

Just got the Ninja Foodie 14-1. I love it, it air fries, steams and pressure cooks. I've not used the oven in a week since I've bought it.

We love our air fryer, it’s just a £50 cheap one. I even do the toast in it.

BlancmanegeBunny · 03/06/2022 18:19

This one is brilliant www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-4l-air-fryer-with-removable-basket/p/0445306

Got gifted an 8l instant pot, 11 in 1 job.

It's bloody amazing!!

over2021 · 03/06/2022 18:19

I have a cheapish tefal 4l one. I love it and chips are amazing from it.

Treecloudtree · 03/06/2022 18:24

Started with a cheapie B&M one - made lots of ‘beige’ food like nuggets, chips, jacket potatoes. More adventurous things like crispy belly pork. Now upgraded to a 10 in 1 that even has a rotisserie chicken function. It’s great to not have to use the oven/pay the energy for the oven

Silverbirch2 · 03/06/2022 18:26

Ok thanks, sounds like it may help with quick easy meals and be cheaper.

This.

We have a Proscenic T21 Smart. Use it for heating things fast; samosas, spring rolls, homemade chips, kebabs, fish fingers, pasties, frozen chips, roasted cauliflower, peppers, onions etc etc. Big capacity and takes 5 mins to pre heat and you can knock about 5 - 10 mins off cooking time. It's compact and fits on my work top. Can clean basket in dishwasher. You can go off and do something else and it turns off by itself

Currently got teriyaki salmon cooking in mine. DS loves making a cheese toastie in it! It does everything - roasts, steak, veg ...

Playplayaway · 03/06/2022 20:18

I use mine daily. Great for warming pastries like croissants and pain au chocs and part baked rolls take about 4 minutes. Baked potatoes are excellent, 5 mins in microwave, 5 mins in air fryer. Sausages & burgers take 8-10 mins. New potatoes or wedges par boiled, spray a little bit of olive oil and add season-all - delicious in about 10 mins. Whole chicken (1.5 kilo) in 45 mins, chicken breasts in 12-15 mins. Freezer food in 2/3 of the time. Sub pizzas work well. A godsend if you have teens! The only thing that failed was a lasagne, it went hard on top and was still cold inside.

Darbs76 · 03/06/2022 20:20

Love mine. I cook chicken in it all the time now, French fries, home cooked chips, wedges, jackets, roast potatoes, toasties, pizza baguettes. Anything that goes in the oven really - faster and cheaper in the air fryer - so much more than mentioned

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 03/06/2022 20:20

I'm eating tons of vegetables and healthy foods since I got mine. You just slice the veg up, spray with some oil and ten mins later you have lovely roasted veg. I also do bacon, salmon, black pudding, pie, fish fingers, potato, sausages, chicken etc. in it. It's brilliant, I love it.

stairgates · 03/06/2022 20:28

Yep brilliant, had ours for 2 weeks and oven hasn't been on. We have a Tower one with 3 shelves in.
