Missed miscarriage

I’m currently experiencing my second MM 😞 my previous one was managed medically with the tablets but I’m convinced I never got over it. The pain, for me, was unmanageable and after pleading with the hospital they brought me in just in time for it ending. So it was a very isolating experience for me and my partner.

I’ve opted for manual evacuation this time as an alternative, but have read it’s very painful. Can anyone shed any light? They won’t do general anaesthetic because of Covid but I’m terrified of being awake.

Missed miscarriages are the cruelest. I’ve read they’re rare, but so many I’ve learned have had them 😔

thank you

I had one a few years ago and it was okay, I had it under general anaesthetic though, not sure why they won’t give you one - I had another unrelated operation last week and had one. I would have thought it would be quite distressing not having one. Really feel for you, I was so devastated and felt tricked by my body which has looked pregnant. I thought it was my last chance to have a baby and was very low for months afterwards although 6 months later I was pregnant - with twins! All went okay that time thankfully x
