Best exercises for wobbly bum and inner thighs?

I have 6 weeks to go until a beach holiday and I need to lose weight pronto! So I will diet. My wobbly bum and inner thighs need firming up as well - what are the best exercises to do this?

Running, squats and Pilates but to get some shape in six weeks is a big ask. Losing weight will make the biggest difference.

I have no problem losing weight - it goes up and down very quickly. And I can tone within 6 weeks if I keep at something, eg, running, weights etc. My arse has only just started to wobble, along with my thighs, so not sure what would best for that. Will look into squats - thanks!

I would go resistance bands. Those walks to the side, positions on all fours with the kicks up, on your side top leg bent foot on floor and under leg straight and raised pulses (good for inner thigh)

In addition to diet and other exercise like walking, lean your back against a wall and bend legs until they are at a right angle to the floor. Hold for as long as you can.

Try Couch25k and a boogie bounce class (or two) a week.

Alternatively, get a PT, they will help you to e all over and will help with eating/nutrition.

Squats and lunges.

TheVolturi · 02/06/2022 18:36

Running definitely and squats

Barre classes, online or in person. Really tightens everything up and quite fast results too

Squats and planking.

Im sticking to the wobble...

Lots of squats and lunges. Not sure what they're called but there are inner thigh exercises, sort of inner leg crunches on your side. Any form of walking, cycling, running will help. If you've got an element of cellulite with it, you could try daily massage and reducing salt intake in the hope any possible water retention is released.

Whatever, go and have a lovely holiday.

Callanetics... Works so much quicker as it targets the deep muscles.

Roseglen84 · 03/06/2022 12:28

Something that you will stick to and do consistently. 6 weeks is enough time to see some good results with weight training 3 - 4 times a week. Or if you don't have hand weights, then try squats and lunges. There are some great videos on youtube.

Do you have a gym membership? Ideally to tone (and see results) you need to start lifting heavy. It’s not a quick fix that you’re asking for but the best thing for actual toning and building muscle.

Hip thrusts with a bar, split squats, walking lunges, cable kickbacks. Resistance bands won’t do a huge amount. I do glute bridges with a smith machine that only targets your glutes and lunges can be done to target your quads or glutes so you need to make sure you do them correctly.

I have a PT who specialises in glute growth and strengthening, it needs consistency so you won’t see results overnight.

Reduced body fat percentage, it doesn’t matter if you build muscle, fat tissue will always be wobbly and lack tone. Retaining fat and increasing muscle will not counteract it, where as fat loss will.

It takes a good 8-12 weeks to see a noticable increase in muscle mass.

Go on to YouTube and look up Pamela Reif. Her leg exercises are the best I have ever done. There is a mixture of workout lengths, her 10 minute ones are amazing, her soundtracks are brilliant and she doesn't talk (hate the way some instructors go on!).

Benjispruce4 · 03/06/2022 15:01

Thanks @ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler i just did her 12 min leg and bum one and it was great. Like you say , no time wasted talking and waiting.
