Sick/fit note

Hi all, just looking for some info surrounding sick/fit notes (I don't actually know what they're called).

The actual document you give to your employer, does that have your reason for being off sick on? I need some time off for a medical problem but I really don't want my reason being broadcasted (which it absolutely will, I work for a very unprofessional and slightly weird company)

You can agree wording with gp, it can be vague but it has to be factually correct.

Yes you can ask the doctor to be vagueish / give very broad strokes about why you're off. But if anyone other than HR or your line manager are told anything it's a gross breach of GDPR, for which you could take legal action.

@xxxGirlCrushxxx I have no idea 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've never been off sick for a period of time before so I don't know the rules. Tbh I'll probably just sit back at my desk like I've never been away and it won't be mentioned again lol
