Just found out a Finger Bob is not a Finger Bob and now feel like my whole childhood was a lie!!

Seen a funny comment about someone referencing a person looking like a Finger Bob yesterday but the picture that she put up was not what I know as a Finger Bob (80’s child) but some bearded ventriloquist with a hand puppet mouse?!!

The Finger Bobs I knew and loved were little hard plastic figures, I think made by Fisher Price that had a whole in the middle so that they sat on your fingers, there was a little blue one with a lace collar that could have been either a boy or a girls, a green bald one, and bright blue one with a blonde pony tail...

we had a carousel/merry go round that you could wind up and they all had little individual seats that they could sit on but my favourite was a boat that I was allowed to take into the bath!

I cannot find any reference to this part on my childhood online now, they will always be Finger Bobs to me but tell me I didn’t imagine them?!

I think they might be fisher price little people? If you google the Play family merry go round there's photos very similar to what you're describing.

I think of the 70s bearded man ones too. Born 71. I thought this thread was going to be someone who thought they were real animals rather than finger puppets.

I loved Finger Bobs the TV programme. I also loved the Fisher Price people, but I can't remember what they were called! They did have a hole, that a very small finger could fit in, but that's not how we played with them, more like dolls house figures.

I don’t think Little People had a hole in for your fingers, it was more so they could fit on their roundabouts and cars abs things without falling off.

I wonder why my parents called them Finger Bobs, I mean it does seem a suitable name for them as they used to do just that!

Oh my! I never had those toys but that programme was a favourite of mine as a small child in the early 70's!

I can still remember the song despite not having heard it for 45+ years!
