Gift for new mum, traumatic birth

... and she's still in hospital (baby well but she's been through hell)

I'm very close to her, I'm not visiting because she doesn't need that right now but I want to send "something" to the ward for her.

Any ideas? (flowers aren't allowed).

Thanks

Food. Little nibbles are great or vouchers

nothing fragrant. Even if she likes fragrant things, she may not like the particular scent you choose. Plus it’s extremely anti-social in a public space.

If she's had a traumatic birth, she's going to need some TLC further down the line. If you can cook, make up some homemade freezer meals and drop them off or make some 'vouchers' which she can redeem for you to take away the washing, do some ironing, clean the house etc. Little gifts like this cost nothing but can be a real lifesaver if you're struggling.
