Disclaimer. Not a scout. One of them looks like first aid, and the R Navy one, was that related to a Sea Cadet stint or similar?

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 31/05/2022 12:20

Emergency aid and Time on the Water. They are staged badges and the number shows what stage it is.

Hermanfromguesswho · 31/05/2022 12:20

They are staged ones so could belong to either the cub or the scout

Ihaveabadfeelingaboutthis · 31/05/2022 12:21

Can you log into onlinescoutmanager.co.uk? It tells me what badges my ds has.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 31/05/2022 12:21

For staged badges they are the same through beavers, cubs and scouts. You can find them all here www.scouts.org.uk/cubs/activity-badges/?filter=StagedBadgeParent

If your group uses OSM you might be to see which kid they belong to.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/05/2022 12:22

here is one of them.

Can I hijack with a quick question? I'm transferring group badges from DS's beavers uniform to his new cub jumper. Do the staged badges move over? In OSM it's showing his staged badges awarded when he was a beaver on his cubs page too.

CoffeeWithCheese · 31/05/2022 12:29

They're staged badges so you only sew the highest number one on the uniform - Time on the Water is the Royal Navy one (it's meant to be a dude in a canoe) and the other one is First Aid (or "clingfilm and bandage the shit out of your friends" when my kids did it at Cubs)

Staged ones move over, the county and stuff move over, the most recent joining in one (the how many years they've done) and the scouting one moves I think. Basically fucking loads of sewing.

If you ask the leaders they'll give you the idiots guide cos they're used to it.

Brilliant, thank you! It's cleared up my confusion as to why he'd come home with a new activity badge but not the staged badges which were showing in OSM! Better get sewing...

Shinyandnew2022 · 31/05/2022 12:43

Thanks so much for all the replies!
I am none the wiser as to who they belong to but have now realised the badges are way more out of control than I ever realised - I have never moved badges from one top to another !
I might just have to guess ..

Beavers leader used to add this info to OSM but it's been a guessing game since !

Do they know whose badges are whose? The water one should be memorable at least...

That is a good question ! I did just conclude that might be from DDs narrowboat trip.

I might have to admit defeat and ask one of the other parents to send a
Pic of their kids tops so I can see how many I have got wrong 😑

I’ve provided a picture of DS’s jumper before when another parent is stumped. Either means both children have got badges in the right place or both are wrong!
