Can someone please tell me what the difference is between 'Delete chat' and 'Clear chat', and can the other person tell.

You can delete the message within an hour of sending it so that both sender and reception t doesn't have ability to view (both sender and recepient are made aware a message has been deleted)

Clear chat clears it just from your view

Clear chat doesn't effect the recipient view - only clears it from your view

What the above said. Delete is a good one if you don't want them to see it anymore.

I should have been more clear. I meant when you slide a chat to the left, you get 'More' and 'Archive' and under 'More', there are the options to clear and delete. Do they do the same thing in this instance?
