I've recently become a SAHM after juggling countless plates and I can't wait to get some time back for *me

I'm going to the cinema alone for the first time today 😁 I'm planning a msssage and some other self /care beauty treatments. As well as som long soaks in the bath and coffee shop dates with myself

Any other suggestions?

Will your kids be at school?

Enjoy it now, whilst it’s still all new and shiny and exciting.
(Don’t want to piss on your chips, but after a while it just gets boring and very lonely)

FuckingNoise · 30/05/2022 13:52

Very long walks in picturesque places, cycling, cooking new recipes, reading, painting, writing.

Giggorata · 30/05/2022 13:55

Driving a long way on my own, with no schedule or time constraints. Bliss!

PenelopeGarseeya · 30/05/2022 13:59

This is subjective but doing things you really want to savour without little ones. E.g. garden centre, museum, spending a day in a library or book shop just browsing. Actually being able to concentrate would be bliss

swedex · 30/05/2022 14:02

Just sitting peacefully in the house enjoying being alone!
I'm on sick at the moment after an op and my mum called me today (we live abroad) and asked would I be ok on my own! Er yes I'd Love to do this every day if I could 😂

Stellaris22 · 30/05/2022 14:07

Sitting and reading a book in a coffee shop is lovely. The gym is my favourite me time though.

PronounMadness · 30/05/2022 14:11

Cinema, concerts, theatre, spa days, weekend breaks, holidays. Love it.

DameHelena · 30/05/2022 14:28

Cinema (can go to see obscure foreign films no one else wants to, about things like people in Mongolia/rural Italy etc keeping bees/pigs/camels)
Gallery (can stand in front of one painting for half an hour if I like, or circle back and look again and again at the best bits).
A nice coffee in the window of a cafe, staring into space and not having to say anything/listen to anyone say anything for a bit.

FreezyFreezy · 30/05/2022 15:03

Sleeping
Sitting in the summerhouse with the radio on
Sitting with a hot chocolate and a cake in a coffee shop by myself
Setting up a still life scene on the dining room table and taking a photo of it and then editing the photo
Sewing (but I often find that stressful)

nearlyspringyay · 30/05/2022 15:12

Sleeping. Daytime naps are seriously underrated.

I just used to piss about though so didn't really achieve anything apart from gym classes. The time between drop off and pick up goes really quickly assuming yours are in school.

Um - look after your child(ren)??

Sorry - just chuckling at the fact that you say you’ve just become an SAHM and then don’t mention children once 😂 I’d imagine that most SAHMs aren’t really flipping a coin to choose between the cinema and a massage but are rather racing between toddler group and swimming lessons, or trying to get poster paint out of the carpet!

HorribleHerstory · 30/05/2022 15:16

Going climbing, skating, cycling, running and taking long hikes up big hills and having a picnic on a rock with a view off a mountain.

LaBellina · 30/05/2022 15:21

Going to the park on a beautiful day and reading a nice book there, a stroll trough the local garden center, visiting flea markets and charity shops for some treasure hunting, going for walks in beautiful places and taking pictures, visiting museums, sitting all by myself in a cafe with a cup of tea and a piece of cake and watching people.

Sallygoround631 · 30/05/2022 15:21

I really enjoy not getting uptight on MN and picking every second OP apart Grin

It's good for the soul.

Lacedwithgrace · 30/05/2022 15:51

Going for drives and walks, having whole days to tidy and clean while watching films, wandering around national trust places and even peaceful churchyards and cathedrals, shopping, charity shopping, going for coffee and cake alone

beststepforward · 30/05/2022 20:04

Thanks all! My children are at nursery/ school
