DH and I have had a really rough time just lately. Pretty much every plan we’ve put in place has fallen through and we’ve been messed about by other people and circumstances. We’re both exhausted.
My parents have (hugely generously and completely unexpectedly) offered to pay for us to go away for a weekend break. We have no idea where to go!
Any recommendations?
We’re near Leeds so we can do most cities by train or we could drive for a few hours (maybe 3-4 hrs max to drive otherwise it starts to eat into the holiday). We usually like museums, historical sites, cultural stuff, outdoor stuff, and I’d love to see Edinburgh (never been) BUT I’m currently pregnant and struggling a bit with my back and hips already at 20 weeks so activities with a lot of walking are out unless we can go at my pace and there are plenty of seats available! We like a nice restaurant, or a show, but not into going out drinking (even if I could!). DH wouldn’t enjoy a spa and I obviously can’t go in a hot tub or anything like that.
My parents have been really generous and not set a budget but I don’t want to cost them a fortune! DH suggested Dublin but I’m not sure if that might be a bit steep?
