Am I missing something? Airline carriers tickets & cost

I've just check both with BA and Turkish Airlines for ticket prices for the same set of dates and BA is more than double that of TA. I was under the assumption both share similarish reputations though I've never flown Turkish Airlines. It seems like a no-brainer to plump with TA but am I overlooking something?

Are you going direct to Turkey? TA will be fine.
I did 11 hrs TA (2 flights each way) and wouldn't again, but there is nothing "wrong" with them, I just have other airlines that cover the route I need that I prefer.
For that cost saving, I'd go Turkish.
