Father's Day gift ideas?

I'm stuck on what to get my DH for Father's Day, I've done lots of the personalized stuff already including stuff from Wonderbly. He is an extremely good hands on dad, does more than his fair share with our 2 boys who adore him so I do want to make him feel special.

He's very low key and not into material things, we'll probably have a nice day out somewhere but wanted to get a token something.

Thanks!

How old are the boys? Have you asked them what they want to get him?

JolieJ · 29/05/2022 10:48

My 2 year old is able give a suggestion. It doesn’t have to be sensible sometimes the fun is in asking the kids to choose.

That's nice for you, however if mine could I would ask him, his speech isn't great yet.

@JolieJ don't ask the kids. My (just turned) 3 year old has told me daddy wants a Rubble (paw patrol) present. She's right that Rubble is his favourite of the Paw Patrol, but I'm struggling to find something that works as a Father's Day present Grin

I'll be doing a Father's day slideshow with family pictures and getting my dad a bottle of whiskey he likes plus some gardening equipment (he says he doesn't need it but a number of his toold definitely need replacement anyways).

Think about stuff he enjoys overall or maybe there are some things that would need to be replaced with newer versions of.

Day out at a place he enjoys...or a museum .....cars / bikes etc ?

Scepticalwotsits · 09/06/2022 08:34

Depends on the type of relationship he has with the kids, either a event out somewhere or an activity they would enjoy together.

it’s great with my DH for Mother’s Day I want peace and quiet so he takes DC out, on Father’s Day he will go do something with them as well.

my DH doesn’t really like materialistic things and would be a bit miffed if I got him tat or a joke present as he would see it as a waste of money.

So my recommendation would be have him do something with the children on threat they would enjoy, and maybe in the evening get a bottle of his favourite beer/alcohol/beverage and sit down and watch a movie or something with him that you know he likes but hasnt yet seen

I was looking at getting a painting done but I came across an app called 'deep art effects' that's turns your pics into painting styles. It's free and you can check out different styles. I'm going to print the pics I did tomorrow of our recent holiday and might get frames but might also wait and pick out together.... We need to put some thought into it and something to agree together as we both like to give some input 😁

Previous year I ordered a personalised bottle of red wine. It's only a token as my husband isn't into spending on big things and doesn't need anything. But I might get him a nice moisturiser with factor 50 in it or a car freshener from Rituals
