No, but im a bah humbug and im not going to the village green party or singing the national anthem either!!!

Datsandcogs · 28/05/2022 16:47

Not outside, but have a very large, double height, front window and I will be hanging Union Jack bunting (but is it Union Jack if not hung on a boat? I don’t live on a boat!)

OldTinHat · 28/05/2022 16:47

I have bunting in my garden! But now thinking it should have been out the front...

hamstersarse · 28/05/2022 16:48

I’ve got Union Jack bunting up, yes

Notonthestairs · 28/05/2022 16:49

Loads of our neighbours have. They also enjoy decorating the street (lampposts, the post box etc) for Christmas and Halloween and even did some spring themed door/window decorations in April. I admire their energy!

So I appreciate their efforts but am too lazy to do it myself!

LocalHobo · 28/05/2022 16:50

DH has just done this. I have to say I'm a bit shocked, but it does look lovely in the sunshine.
Quite a few decorations up round and about.

Purplecatshopaholic · 28/05/2022 16:52

Ha, ha, nothing here, thank fuck - I’m in Scotland and it’s barely being mentioned despite some parts of the media trying desperately to raise the profile, lol.

Snorklette · 28/05/2022 16:52

Yup - loads! It’s bunting mad round here. They’d probably shoot me if I didn’t put some up 😂

IHateWasps · 28/05/2022 16:53

No. I'd sooner shit in my hands and clap but I do love the idea of you asking random Mumsnetters to decorate your house for you.

Theimpossiblegirl · 28/05/2022 16:54

I have. Only 2 others in my village so far.

ProseccoStorm · 28/05/2022 16:54

Nope.

Low key here, don't think anyone's bothered. I doubt anyone I know is going to watch the royal celebrations on tv either. Just seems totally insignificant.

There is a local party that we are attending, but that feels more about our community than the royal family tbh.

amandadada · 28/05/2022 16:54

I have.

SoggyPaper · 28/05/2022 16:54

Absolutely no way. I am not celebrating the monarchy.

Crabwoman · 28/05/2022 16:55

Nope. There is plenty of bunting in my neighbourhood but that is to do with a certain football game on tonight.

ChaToilLeam · 28/05/2022 16:56

I‘ll dig out my Sex Pistols T-shirt for the big day.

hepaticanobilis · 28/05/2022 16:57

No, and I haven't seen any sign of bunting in my neighbourhood yet anyway. A couple of roads in the local area are having street parties but nothing nearby.

I was expecting the thread to be about somebody secretly putting up unwanted bunting and running away.

I've made loads but it's going in next door's garden where we are having the party.

Chesneyhawkes1 · 28/05/2022 16:59

Yes we have bunting and a flag. Loads of houses do.

The council have decorated the lamp posts and roundabout too.

Exactly this!

SpeedofaSloth · 28/05/2022 17:02

No, we will go to a Jubilee event though.

Cryingbutstilltrying · 28/05/2022 17:03

Nope, and no intention to.
My mother has decorated her entire street though, around the road signs, lampposts, fences, she’s been making the stuff for at least a year now.
She tells me it looks lovely, I’m not convinced. But she’s happy, so I will keep my snark to myself.
I’m not keen on flags in general on private homes though. Not really sure why, just don’t like what it seems to represent for many people.
I do hope everyone having a party has a good time though!

IncompleteSenten · 28/05/2022 17:03

No.

IcedOatLatte · 28/05/2022 17:04

I drove past someone putting some up this morning, if you live in a town house by a canal she may have been doing your house 😂
