Hello, looking to book a holiday for the beginning of september with partner and 2 children who will be aged 3 and 18 months when we fly. Wanting to know about peoples experiences of holiday villages. Which are the best people have been to and why ? Did any of them have amazing beaches. Since my children have not flown before looking for holidays within Europe , and all inclusive for convenience. Also if anyone has any recommendations for any other fabulous all inclusive holidays please let me know. Thanks in advance.

We're going to Holiday Village Rhodes in 2 weeks. Never been before but excited about it!

Claymorekick · 27/05/2022 22:59

We went to Cyprus HV a few years ago - absolutely loved it! Location was good, rooms were fab, facilities were good. My DC were quite a bit older than yours though so can't really comment on what it is like for younger

We dis HV Rhodes and it was very good. Great for younger kids especially 👍

ThatsALotOfPassionfruit · 28/05/2022 06:58

The one in Ibiza was good. Short flight too

We started going to Hv when we had 4 children under 4 - so lots of splash pools.

Rhodes we have been there twice that’s the best one. Beach a 10 min walk away. It’s very noisy if you have kids sensitive to noise. Good choice of food

cyprus - some of the rooms are old style plus it’s a very rocky beach. Larger site …. Smaller entertaining area. Plus food for vegi not so great.

we have been to another one can’t remember which was good ….

once the entertainment in the evening starts it can be noisy in the bedroom like you can hear what’s happening on stage

3 of my kids loved it - nd one thought it was too busy and noisy.

one year they did kids club which was lovely then the refuse it 🤪 but they have these mascots that walk round and it’s quite entertaining - lots going on

be careful where you pick your room - especially the Rhodes one as you need to go under a tunnel walkway if you want to go to a restaurant.

Also, I wouldn’t rate the life guards - there is generally someone only one person walking round the pool chatting to the kids it’s defo not lifeguard safe swimming pool 🤪🤪🤪 Dubai lifeguards on the other hand AMAZING

My neighbour went to the Rhodes one last week and they said it was okay but after the kids entertainment everyone went to bed. They're very social and wanted to have a couple of drinks I think with other adults. They said it was a ghost town at 10pm

Wouldn't have bothered me at all when mine were little but they said they wouldn't go there again. (Their DC is tiny and sleeps well in a buggy)

Been to Kos and Ibiza. Whilst it's not my ideal holiday it is perfect with kids. We are going back to Ibiza this summer.

Went to the Holiday Village Manar (sp) in Tunisia 2014. Lovely food, great entertainment, DS loved the kids club, pools clean, rooms cleaned everyday and the beds were comfy. There was literally nothing not to like. Also, as it was near to the town you could just get a taxi and do the same day trips offered by the rep for about a third of the price. I’d go again.

Recently back from HV Majorca, have a 3yo DD, we loved it, lots to do, lots of pools and the food was nice. Accommodation clean and spacious.

I would recommend it there.

Found you have to download an app to book onto any activities etc

Wasn't on a beach, but they had a free shuttle bus and was 5 min down the road and lovely.

Not sure if DD would have loved it as much as a teenager though, it was a lot of younger families there and more tailored to that I'd say.

lanbro · 28/05/2022 09:18

We went to the Benalmadena one in 2016, would not recommend! Although there was plenty for the kids, this seemed to be an excuse for the adults to get absolutely steaming (I like a drink myself but this was ridiculous) Food was terrible, undercooked, cold.

Since then we've done many AI holidays, would totally recommend where we are now, Globales Los Patos Park in Benalmadena. Great splash pool for little ones, flumes for older ones, good food but not too big so not like a cattlemart at dinner. Close to the beach, there's a beautiful marina with a kids funfair. Kids club with entertainment.

I don't doubt some HV are excellent but I think there are also lots of cheaper but comparable alternatives

Gottoomuchgoingon · 28/05/2022 09:34

We did one in Portugal a few years back. It was fab. My DD was about 6/7 and she loved it

MissCalamity · 28/05/2022 10:13

@lanbro we went to Patos Park in 2017 & absolutely loved it.

I also like it because it's not a massive complex plus you could only get out via reception so no kids escaping out the back! We're going back in August, glad to hear it's still good 👍

Human travel in Italy are AMAZING!! We've been to several and go to Rome in 10 days. They are just beautifully clean, the lagoon pools are soft and rubber on the floor and just perfect for kids. Supermarkets are reasonably priced, laundry on sure, kids clubs etc. I highly recommend them.

Keenbean10 · 28/05/2022 11:09

Oo I have not even looked at these guys for holiday, will have a look. Thank you.

Just booked the HV in Turkey for next year.

Mamaof2males · 13/06/2022 19:22

We went to Holiday village Lanzarote in 2019 and are going back in August. You get a bungalow as opposed to a hotel so less noise as no one above or below etc. we have booked a suite so you get a partition and anotger bedroom too which is great for privacy as one room can be too much and nice to have space. Saying that we didn’t have suite last time but still had the partician wall out a little so acted like a divider: Also WiFi and fridge in your room massive tick! Not just the communal areas. The kids clubs are great esp for little ones, older ones may refuse or give and take but they were lovely staff. My boys are fussy so we end up taking marmite, snacks, Nutella - and they have a kids buffet so more beigy type familiar foods too. Although haven’t been post covid so I’m hoping Will be the same. Has a park too and higtopes, archery etc and a chocolate party and one evening a week for a kids party so you get a few hours to chill without them! X also a little water park across the road! X
