Street Party Tips

We are having a "street party" although our road technically won't be closed, but we have a very large grass verge area to work with.

I was wondering on the logistics of getting tables and chairs and things out.

What are your street party tips?

Our street is kind of late to the idea of all this but is now suddenly very enthusiastic, and well it would be nice to make it a good 'un.

Thanks in advance!

Encourage everyone to bring gazebos, tables and chairs.
Encourage decorations.
Arrange games and activities to encourage mixing. Get someone on facepaints.

We're all getting together on BH Thursday to decorate the street with bunting and flags.

Everyone is bringing chairs and their own drinks and food will be a mix of different dishes.

One of the organisers is arranging games for the children with a bran tub full of little prizes.

Someone else is organising a 1950s play list

It will be very relaxed. Our road will be closed to traffic so there will be lots of scooters out and about.

Have you got a road WhatsApp group.very helpful.especially for times like this.
Is there anyone struggling on your street?perhaps need to think about if your saying bring your own how some simply can't,ashamed what this looks like right now especially.bur also some can't cook more for all, because of the same reason.so how to make sure everyone can provide but also be fed.
