Antibiotic dose spacing

DD was prescribed antibiotics this afternoon for a throat and chest infection. She had her first dose at 4.45pm. Doses are meant to be 12 hours apart. Do I really need to wake her at 4.45 am, or can it wait until about 7am?

I felt like I should know this, my children are 10 and 13, but it’s been 7 or 8 years since either of them needed antibiotics!

Of course not ! Just give it first thing in the morning and last thing at night

Thank you!

I would have waited for first dose at 7pm and second dose at 7am etc

Check details label/paperwork too. My recent antibiotics’ doses had to be taken with or after food.

Which antibiotics are they. 7am and 7pm should be fine, but they might need to be taken with food, or on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after food)

Take the next dose in the morning, then stick to 12 hours apart after that.
